My two dogs Peanut and Gordie By Kathryn Welch I have two dogs named Peanut and Gordie. They are the "apple of my eye". Peanut is male and is 6 years old, part chihuahua. I got him in North Carolina. I was staying in a mobile home park and was having some plumbing work done. I noticed the plumber had a dog with him that was real cute and obedient. I commented on the dog and how well behaved it was and he said thanks. I asked him what kind of dog was he and he said part chihuahua and part something else. Said she would not get any bigger.She was about 16 inches high. She was pregnant and would be having her pups in about 3 weeks. I asked him if he was gonna sell them and he said no that he would be giving them away. I asked him for one if he had any left. He said he would have to check with his wife. Well after he left, I did not think nothing else of it. About a month later I was leaving for work when someone knocked at the door. It was the plumber. He said you thought I forgot you didn't you. And then he handed me the cutest and smallest puppy you have every seen. He was biege and looked like a peanut. That is where he got his name. Well after that we got a cat about a week later from work and they were happy. After about 2 years we went back to Nevada to live. The cat got sick and passed away. Peanut was lonely. While I was looking at the paper I noticed that they had some chihuahua puppies they were having to give away because they were moving. Well I called and they said they were all gone. But they said they had one that was about 2 years old they were giving away if I wanted it. So that is how "gordie" became part of our family. It has been a year now and they are so happy together now.
